SBS’s upcoming comedy sports drama “The Winning Try” has released its first making-of video ahead of the premiere!
“The Winning Try” tells the story of Joo Ga Ram (Yoon Kye Sang), a former rugby star who falls from grace due to a doping scandal. Years later, he returns to his alma mater as the new coach of its bottom-ranked high school rugby team and leads the underdog squad on a quest to win the National Sports Festival.
The new video showcases the main cast during the filming of individual and group posters for the drama. Interspersed with behind-the-scenes footage are interviews where the actors share their thoughts about their characters. Yoon Kye Sang described his role, saying, “Joo Ga Ram is a bit of an eccentric who truly loves rugby and cares deeply about the players he coaches.”
Im Se mi spoke about her character Bae Yi Ji, explaining, “Bae Yi Ji is someone who dreams of becoming a shooter. The story explores how she and Joo Ga Ram, who is devoted to rugby, meet and help the team grow.” Kim Yo Han added, “My character Yoon Sung Joon is full of passion and a strong desire to be recognized. Through meeting rugby team members and his coach Joo Ga Ram, he experiences a lot of growth.”
The video also captures the lively moments in the rugby club room, balancing serious strategy discussions with fun, lighthearted interactions. These scenes highlight the camaraderie between Joo Ga Ram and the team members, building excitement for the spirited and heartwarming drama ahead.
