Anticipation is rising for the unique and dynamic roles that the supporting cast members of “Law and The City” will portray!
“Law and The City” follows five associate attorneys—Ahn Ju Hyeong (Lee Jong Suk), Kang Hui Ji (Mun Ka Young), Cho Chang Won (Kang You Seok), Bae Mun Jeong (Ryu Hye Young), and Ha Sang Gi (Im Seong Jae)—as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of their daily lives. These salaried lawyers, employed by law firms, commute each day to the bustling legal district of Seocho.
First of all, Yeom Hye Ran takes on the role of Kim Hyung Min, the owner of Hyungmin Building which houses a variety of law firms and legal offices. Having built a successful business, Kim Hyung Min now owns a building that bears her name as well as a scholarship foundation. Yet, despite her status as the landlord, she is a mysterious figure who rarely shows her face—even the managing partners have never met her in person.
On the fifth floor of Hyungmin Building is Law Firm Chunggong, where Cho Chang Won works. The firm’s managing partner Sung Yu Deok (Lee Seo Hwan) is a business-minded lawyer who will take on any case—no matter how trivial—if it brings in money. Even when complaints and concerns from his lawyers pile up during the relentless pursuit of profit, he remains single-mindedly focused on his own goals.
In contrast, Kang Jung Yoon (Jung Hye Young), the managing partner of Law Firm Johwa—where Kang Hui Ji works—considers even her associate lawyers as colleagues working alongside her. She always treats people with warmth and kindness, occasionally showing her charming “auntie” side. However, at times, her demeanor as a leader stands in stark contrast to her usual behavior, creating an intriguing sense of dissonance.
Meanwhile, Na Kyung Min (Park Hyung Soo), the managing partner of Law Firm Kyungmin, is the epitome of indifference—showing neither passion for his work nor interest in his associates Ahn Ju Hyeong and Bae Mun Jeong. Despite being competent enough to employ two associates, he maintains a consistently aloof attitude, hinting at a peculiar distance between himself and his team.
The only legal office in Hyungmin Building, Law Office Hojeon, is led by managing partner Kim Ryu Jin (Kim Ji Hyun). Known for her tenacity and thoroughness in handling cases and securing victories, she works in perfect sync with Ha Sang Gi. Not only do they pull all-nighters and share an academic approach, but Kim Ryu Jin also spares no expense in rewarding Ha Sang Gi, fueling his loyalty and dedication to the firm.
In this way, Hyungmin Building—the backdrop of “Law and The City”—brings together a colorful cast of characters, from the mysterious landlord to four managing partners, each with their own distinct style. Their intertwined relationships—sometimes as allies and sometimes as rivals—promise to add a new layer of tension and excitement to the work lives of the five associate attorneys.
