It’s finally official: “Boyhood” is returning for a second season!
On June 20, Coupang Play announced that it would be producing a second season of its award-winning drama “Boyhood.”
“Boyhood,” which starred Yim Si Wan and Lee Sun Bin, was set at an agricultural high school in Chungcheong Province. Back when it was first released in 2023, the hit drama gave rise to several trendy catchphrases and also won numerous awards, including the Blue Dragon Series Award for Best Actor.
Season 2 of “Boyhood” will be set at a seaside fisheries high school and will feature a colorful new cast of characters.
Season 1 director Lee Myung Woo, who is returning to direct the new season, remarked, “I’m delighted that, thanks to the warm love Season 1 received from viewers, we’re able to continue ‘Boyhood’ with a new and different story.”
“This season, we will aim to tell a story with even more colorful and three-dimensional characters against the new backdrop of a seaside fisheries high school,” he continued. “We plan to capture moments of youth that are familiar but also new, and fun but also heartfelt. Please look forward to it.”
Season 2 is currently scheduled to begin filming in the first half of 2026, and its premiere date will be announced at a later time.
