The Bias List is a K-pop blog that also covers a fair amount of J-pop. But just like most music fans, I enjoy tracks from all around the world. So, I thought I’d start a monthly round-up of some of the non-K-pop songs that have caught my ear. No ratings — just highlights!

Metteson – Hunger
This has such a gorgeous depth of sound. The choral vocals are inspired and work so well against the icy synth.
Miley Cyrus – Walk Of Fame / Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved
To no one’s surprise, the dance songs on Miley’s new album are my favorite. Both of these are such fun and quite daring in their scope and sound.
Nova May – Tropicana Bar
She’s the queen of recession pop revitalization. Bonus points for the accordion.
Ola Salo & Peter Jöback – Two Of Us
This probably won’t mean much to most of my readers, but any new music from The Ark’s Ola Salo is a very unexpected treat for me. I love the classic rock meets ABBA sound of this.
Portion Boys – Tämän kesän viheltelen
This sounds like a demented sea chanty and I love that so much. One of their best singles in awhile.
PRIZM – Times Like These
A good old fashioned 80’s singalong.
Red Sebastian – Slay
I could do without the trite lyrics (please stop saying “slay” in this day and age), but the propulsive electro production is right up my alley.
Scarlet – Heartbreak Squad
Another cheesy Halloween-meets-schlager banger.
Snow Wife – YoYo
My favorite track from her very fun new EP.
Sophie And The Giants – A Little Bit Wild
A chugging dance track with a singalong chorus.
Tears & Gearz – George Michael
One of the best choruses of the month. It’s such a joy bomb. These guys are killer pop songwriters.
Tommi Aura – Wildside
The spelled-out chorus grates, but the rest of the song is pure pop fluff in the best way.
TPCX – sin.
The Parity Complex have rebranded as TPCX and released one of their strongest ever singles. This one’s so bombastic and punky.
Zombic x Aexcit x aetos – When You Hold Me
A great club track.
