ENA’s upcoming drama “The Defects” has released new stills of Choi Young Joon!
Based on a popular webtoon, “The Defects” is an action thriller about children who have been abandoned by their adoptive parents—and their fight for survival and revenge. The drama is directed by Oh Gi Hwan and written by Ahn So Jung.
Choi Young Joon will play Woo Tae Sik, a subordinate in the trafficking ring who secretly rescues and protects children who have been returned. Plagued by guilt over his involvement, he dedicates himself to shielding the children and teaching them how to survive.
The newly released stills spotlight Woo Tae Sik’s troubled and solemn expression, reflecting his complex emotional state as he navigates life within the organization while safeguarding the children.
One image captures his steely determination, while another shows him on the verge of tears, overwhelmed by emotion. These poignant moments hint at the drama’s gripping narrative and the deep bonds Tae Sik shares with the children.
The production team shared, “As a trusted actor, Choi Young Joon perfectly captures Woo Tae Sik’s layered inner world and restrained emotions.” They added, “Please look forward to his performances as he will play a pivotal role in the drama’s overarching story.”
“The Defects” is set to premiere on July 21 at 10 p.m. KST.
