The upcoming film “My Daughter is a Zombie” has released new stills featuring its cast!
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “My Daughter Is a Zombie” is a heartfelt comedy about a devoted father who goes to extreme lengths to protect his daughter, who is the last surviving zombie on Earth. Jo Jung Suk stars as Jung Hwan, a loving father who secretly attempts to train his zombie daughter.
The newly released stills capture Jung Hwan and his daughter Soo Ah (Choi Yu Ri) hiding behind a sofa and anxiously waiting for a chance to escape as a horde of zombies closes in on their doorstep.
Jung Hwan eventually safely arrives in Eunbong Village, his mother Bam Soon’s (Lee Jung Eun’s) hometown, but in the meantime, his daughter Soo Ah has been infected by the zombie virus and has turned into a zombie.
Although shocked by the news, Bam Soon quickly adapts to the new reality. As if nothing has changed, she picks up her back scratcher and sets out to keep her zombie granddaughter in line.
Meanwhile, Jung Hwan’s top-secret training to protect his zombie daughter Soo Ah officially begins. In one scene, the three gather around the dinner table, trying to help Soo Ah regain her memory with Grandma’s homemade soy sauce egg rice.
In another set of stills, Jung Hwan’s childhood friend Dong Bae (Yoon Kyung Ho) joins in to help with Soo Ah’s covert training at the beach.
The appearance of Jung Hwan’s first love Yeon Hwa (Cho Yeo Jeong), who harbors a deep hatred for zombies, adds tension to the story and raises curiosity about what’s to come.
Finally, the scene-stealing presence of Aeyongi, the family cat, sitting on the sofa with a strikingly human-like expression while guarding the remote control, further heightens viewers’ anticipation.
“My Daughter is a Zombie” will hit theaters across South Korea on July 30.
