The Bias List is a K-pop blog that also covers a fair amount of J-pop. But just like most music fans, I enjoy tracks from all around the world. So, I thought I’d start a monthly round-up of some of the non-K-pop songs that have caught my ear. No ratings — just highlights!

    February 2022 // March 2022 // April 2022 // May 2022 // June 2022 // July 2022 // August 2022 // September 2022 // October 2022 // November 2022 // January 2023 // February 2023 // March 2023 // April 2023 // May 2023 // June 2023 // July 2023 // August 2023 // September 2023 // October 2023 // November 2023 // January 2024 // February 2024 // March 2024 // April 2024 // May 2024 // June 2024 // July 2024 // August 2024 // September 2024 // October 2024 // November 2024 // December 2024 // January 2025 // February 2025 // March 2025 // April 2025 // May 2025 // June 2025 Pt1 Pt2 Pt3 // July 2025

Blusher – Don’t Look At Me Like That

They finally combined all their recent singles into an EP. This is great, anthemic dance-pop as usual.

    Caroline Kingsbury – Chocolate

Really love this 80s new wave beat. She captures the era so well.

    Chace – Fight Club

This Shanghai-based musician drew upon classic Michael Jackson as influence for his new album. That instantly catches my attention. The album’s a bit too subdued for me on the whole, but when he really lets the rhythm go it’s pretty fantastic.

Chiara Nova – I Want It All

This new dance diva is definitely channeling early Lady Gaga and we can never get enough of that!

Confidence Man & Jade – Gossip

A pretty bulletproof team-up, if you ask me.

Daniel Seavey – Blame It On You

Surging, emotive indie pop with a great chorus.

    Demi Lovato – Fast

I’m not 100% sold on the anti-drop hook (SO sick of that trope), but I’m excited that Demi has reconnected with dance music.

DE’WAYNE – Forever (ft. I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME)

His second album is finally out! Its best songs were already released as singles, but this is another standout.

Girls Aloud – Singapore (Definitive Version)

This is not a new song. In fact, it’s twenty years old! But, Xenomania has polished it up from its demo version for the group’s Chemistry anniversary edition. Fantastic to hear.

Grant Knoche – Good Luck Getting Over Me

Another boppy club track from him.

LEXXE – Stars Align (ft. Loren Allred)

This is an absolute disco slammer. It’s one of the biggest sounding tracks she’s released.

Madison Rose – Monochrome: The White Album

This underrated queen of pop has finally released her second studio album, including all the singles from the past two years as well as a bunch of new tracks. Pretty much everything’s great, but I’ll embed my favorite two previously unreleased tracks, the dancefloor banger Miracle and the strutting rock anthem Ramona.

    Michael Medrano – Animal

He’s given us another sleazy club bop. He’s one of the few artists who can get away with essentially talking over a dance beat because the production is so gritty and irresistible.

Neea River & smsn – Taboo

Neea River continues to be one of the most prolific pop stars in the business. This is a bit trendier than most of her stuff, but it’s another solid dance track.

Retrograde & Vincint – LEO (PartyStar)

It’s fun to hear club diva Vincint on a hip-hop track.

    Slayyyter – Beat Up Chanel$

Definitely moving further into dance and away from pure pop, but Slayyyter fits very well in this realm.

Tom Grennan – Everywhere I Went, Led Me To Where I Didn’t Want To Be (Album)

His new album is far groovier than I’d expected. I love how bombastic his production tends to be. I feel like he’s what people think Benson Boone is. I could have picked many songs to highlight because the album’s so strong, but like with Madison Rose I’ll choose two. Cool With That is an addictive example of his theatrical, choral sound while Celebrate is a buoyant Uptown Funk style stomper.

    Zara Larsson – Crush

I actually think this is the best song to come out of this new album campaign yet. I love the electronic textures during the chorus.
