Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang begin a mysterious partnership in the upcoming Netflix series “Trigger”!

“Trigger” is an action-packed thriller drama set in South Korea, a country known for its strict gun control laws. The story follows two men who, for their own reasons, take up arms amidst a rising wave of illegal firearms mysteriously appearing across the nation that leads to an unprecedented surge in gun-related crimes. Kim Nam Gil stars as Lee Do, a police officer who picks up guns once more to uphold justice, while Kim Young Kwang plays Moon Baek, a mysterious figure who aids Lee Do amid rising gun crimes while concealing his own secrets.

The newly released character stills pique curiosity by capturing Lee Do and Moon Baek at the center of a gun-related incident. First, police officer Lee Do’s sharp gaze, holding a sniper rifle, immediately draws attention. Having previously served as a military sniper in conflict zones, he is a character who picks up a gun once again to uphold justice when confronted with an illegal firearms case.

Kim Nam Gil described his character by saying, “Lee Do is someone who carries deep wounds, but he tries not to return the pain he’s received to the world.” He added, “Rather than being trapped in the past, he’s a person with a strong will to move forward into the future. His restrained inner self and quiet determination are what make him appealing.”

Meanwhile, Moon Baek stands out with a completely different vibe. Unlike Lee Do, who carefully takes aim at his target, Moon Baek exudes a free-spirited and relaxed energy. His unique style and playful facial expressions only heighten curiosity about the mysterious helper Moon Baek.

Kim Young Kwang shared, “Moon Baek is a very free-spirited character, and he felt unlike any role I’ve played before. He also has a dark past, but I found the transformation of his character throughout the story to be especially captivating.”

Director Kwon Oh Seung expressed his deep trust in the actors, saying, “The emotions conveyed through Kim Nam Gil’s eyes alone tell a story, and the slight furrow of his brow adds authenticity and persuasiveness to the character. I was confident that such a captivating actor would naturally draw viewers into ‘Trigger’ through his portrayal of Lee Do.”

He continued, “Kim Young Kwang also possesses an undeniable charm that makes him perfect for the role of Moon Baek. There’s a mesmerizing power in his smile. I believe that his enchanting smile truly embodies the character of Moon Baek.”

“Trigger” is set to be released on July 25. Watch a teaser here!
