MBC’s upcoming drama “Mary Kills People” has released new stills teasing a tense face-off between Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki!
A remake of the Canadian series of the same name, “Mary Kills People” stars Lee Bo Young as Woo So Jung, an ER doctor who illegally provides euthanasia to patients with incurable illnesses. Lee Min Ki plays Jo Hyun Woo, a terminal brain tumor patient with no remaining treatment options.
The newly revealed photos capture Woo So Jung and Jo Hyun Woo locked in a psychological battle. In the scene, Woo So Jung tries to mask her shock, desperately suppressing the faint tremble in her eyes to keep her composure. Meanwhile, Jo Hyun Woo fixes her with a sharp, suspicious gaze as he searches for answers to his questions.
Their charged eye contact, laced with wariness yet undercurrents of intrigue, raises anticipation for the complex dynamic between a doctor who aids death and a patient who has chosen it.
The production team commented, “This scene captures the completely different perspectives and emotions that Lee Bo Young’s and Lee Min Ki’s characters hold towards each other, expressed solely through their eyes. Their powerful performances in this moment showcase the depth of their acting spectrum, which will be the driving force of ‘Mary Kills People.’”
“Mary Kills People” will premiere on August 1 at 10 p.m. KST.
