KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “Walking on Thin Ice” has unveiled a glimpse of the catastrophe looming over Lee Young Ae’s once happy family.
“Walking on Thin Ice” will tell the story of the dangerous partnership between Kang Eun Soo (Lee Young Ae), a mother desperate to protect her family, and Lee Kyung (Kim Young Kwang), a teacher who secretly leads a double life.
After marrying Park Do Jin (Bae Soo Bin), with whom she used to work at the same bank, Kang Eun Soo lives a modest but happy life with her husband and their daughter Park Soo Ah (Kim Si Ah). However, this ordinary family is thrust into chaos and despair when Park Do Jin suddenly falls ill and is diagnosed with a terminal illness—and a reckless investment Kang Eun Soo makes for her family, which is about to lose the head of its household, only winds up pushing them further into financial ruin.
Newly released stills from the upcoming drama capture an everyday morning in Kang Eun Soo’s once happy household. After preparing a table full of food for her husband and daughter in the morning, Kang Eun Soo wears a warm smile as she sends Soo Ah off to school with a hug.
However, in the next set of photos, a letter in Kang Eun Soo’s hand turns her entire world upside down. Park Do Jin’s unsmiling expression hints at the impending disaster that is about to shake the family to its core, and as soon as his secret is revealed, a cold silence descends upon the table that was once warm and full of laughter.
The “Walking on Thin Ice” production team commented, “As you can tell just from looking at the stills, the family created by Lee Young Ae, Bae Soo Bin, and Kim Si Ah felt remarkably real and natural. The combination of their sincere acting and the tightly woven story will resonate deeply with viewers.”
