Get ready for sparks to fly between Girls’ Generation’s Lim Yoona and Kang Han Na in tvN’s upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty”!
Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Lim Yoona as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet. Kang Han Na will play Lee Heon’s trusted but ruthless concubine Kang Mok Joo.
After she unexpectedly travels back in time, Yeon Ji Young’s arrival will shake up the palace. A mysterious woman who introduces herself as a chef from the future, Yeon Ji Young will steal Lee Heon’s heart with her strange but delicious dishes, which introduce him to a whole new world of flavor.
In spite of the brazen and insolent attitude of this suspicious newcomer, who even dares to lay her hands on the king’s body without hesitation, Lee Heon is so taken with Yeon Ji Young’s cooking that he appoints her to the position of head chef of the royal kitchen.
Meanwhile, Kang Mok Joo is a beautiful and ambitious concubine who has managed to capture Lee Heon’s heart. As the only person that Lee Heon trusts, she holds unrivaled power within the palace walls.
However, because of Kang Mok Joo’s dark and boundless ambition, she is willing to resort to any means necessary to monopolize Lee Heon’s favor, which she needs in order to maintain her power. When newcomer Yeon Ji Young suddenly appears by Lee Heon’s side, she winds up clashing with Kang Mok Joo, who is threatened by her arrival.
“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” will premiere on August 23 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
