The police have decided not to forward Ju Haknyeon’s case of alleged prostitution to the prosecution.
On July 2, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station officially decided not to charge Ju Haknyeon with violating the Act on the Punishment of Arrangement of Commercial Sex Acts, etc.
Back on June 18, Ju Haknyeon was unexpectedly removed from THE BOYZ, with the group’s agency ONE HUNDRED citing “issues involving Ju Haknyeon’s personal life” that made it “no longer possible for us to maintain trust in him as an artist.” Afterwards, a news outlet reported that multiple sources claimed Ju Haknyeon had paid for sex with former Japanese AV actress Asuka Kirara.
Following the report, Ju Haknyeon firmly and repeatedly denied the allegations of prostitution, stating that while it was true that he had met with Asuka Kirara, nothing illegal had taken place.
On June 19, an individual filed a criminal complaint with the Gangnam Police Station requesting an investigation into Ju Haknyeon’s case of alleged prostitution.
However, the police ultimately determined that the individual who had filed the complaint had not provided sufficient concrete evidence to warrant an investigation, as they had based their complaint solely on internet articles.
Meanwhile, Ju Haknyeon previously announced his plans to take legal action against the unknown individual who had filed the complaint against him, as well as the news outlet and reporter that first published the allegations of prostitution.
