tvN’s upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” has released the first stills of Seo Yi Sook and Oh Eui Sik in character!
Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Lim Yoona as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet.
Veteran actors Seo Yi Sook and Oh Eui Sik will appear as influential power players within the royal court. Seo Yi Sook plays Queen Dowager Inju, the highest authority in the royal family, while Oh Eui Sik stars as Chief State Councilor Im Song Jae, a cunning strategist.
Queen Dowager Inju lost both her husband and son and now serves as the grand matriarch of the palace. She personally placed her biological grandson Lee Heon on the throne, but his increasingly uncontrollable behavior places them at odds—turning the palace into a tense political battleground.
Meanwhile, Oh Eui Sik’s character Im Song Jae is a master manipulator who uses the king as a pawn to eliminate his rivals. Despite enjoying the king’s trust and holding a top advisory role alongside his father, he is widely condemned by others as a “notorious sycophant.”
Together, Queen Dowager Inju and Im Song Jae represent both the king’s biggest threat and his most trusted ally. With their influence tipping the scales of palace politics, viewers are left wondering how these two powerful forces will shape Lee Heon’s fate.
“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” will premiere on August 23 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
