KARA’s Kang Jiyoung and HIGHLIGHT’s Lee Gikwang’s upcoming action film “I KILL U” has announced its premiere date!
“I Kill You” follows the story of Sun Woo, a former Taekwondo hopeful who appears in the media on behalf of chaebol Ji Yeon (both played by Kang Ji Young), who eerily resembles Sun Woo and gets accused of being the main culprit of a drunk hit-and-run accident. Lee Gikwang stars as Ji Yeon’s ambitious half-brother Ho Joong, who feels inferior to her but is determined to become their family’s heir.
The newly released main poster features the bold English title “I KILL U” and hints at the high-stakes conflict ahead. Kang Ji Young, who plays both Sun Woo, a poor girl struggling to survive, and Ji Yeon, a third-generation chaebol heiress, conveys the gravity of her characters’ situation with just her gaze. Meanwhile, Lee Gikwang’s portrayal of Ho Joong hints at the wild, predatory instincts lurking beneath his gentlemanly exterior, raising curiosity about his villainous performance.
The trailer ramps up the tension with adrenaline-fueled scenes of Sun Woo fighting back against powerful enemies after stepping into Ji Yeon’s life. Fast-paced action cuts show her throwing punches, evading danger, and pushing back against assailants, while ominous lines like “No matter whom, at least one will die” and “You chose the wrong person” hint at shocking twists and Ho Joong’s ruthless scheme.
“I KILL U” will hit theaters on July 23.
