Upcoming drama “The Catstody War” (literal title) has unveiled an adorable and intriguing new preview video!
tvN’s “The Catstody War” (literal title), a one-act drama that is part of tvN’s O’PENing 2025 series, will tell the story of a couple on the verge of divorce who become embroiled in a fierce custody battle—not over a child, but over their beloved cat, whom they’ve raised like family.
Yoon Doojoon and Kim Seul Gi will portray Kim Do Young and Lee Yoo Jin, a married couple of five years. After struggling with infertility, they adopted a stray cat and formed a tight-knit family—only to eventually reach the decision to part ways.
The special preview video begins with Do Young and Yoo Jin sitting across from each other at a table, calmly dividing their belongings—Do Young takes the car, while Yoo Jin keeps the furniture and appliances. As they shake hands to mark the end of their marriage, Nori lets out a meow, drawing their attention. Then, they both scream, “Nori is mine!”
What follows is their comedic exploration of their custody strategies: Yoo Jin searches online for information about pet custody, while Do Young seeks advice from a friend in the legal field. They soon discover that, under the law, pets are considered property, and custody depends on who contributed more to the pet’s care.
Do Young handled most of the day-to-day care while Yoo Jin was away on business trips. However, the vet Do Young frequently visited was his brother-in-law, making it difficult to use veterinary records as evidence.
As both sides scramble to prove they were Nori’s primary caregiver, viewers are left wondering who will win this tug-of-paws—and whether the couple can truly finalize their divorce without losing what matters most to them.
