MBC’s upcoming remake of “Mary Kills People” is arriving this August!
On June 20, MBC announced that its new remake of the hit Canadian series “Mary Kills People” would premiere on August 1.
“Mary Kills People” will star Lee Bo Young as Woo So Jung, a doctor who saves lives by day and secretly provides euthanasia to patients with incurable illnesses by night. Lee Min Ki will play Jo Hyun Woo, a terminally ill patient with a brain tumor.
MBC also released its first teaser for the upcoming drama, which introduces Woo So Jung as a “doctor who ends patients’ suffering.” Amidst glimpses of Woo So Jung offering patients glasses of laced champagne, one patient asks her, “How long does it take?” She responds, “It usually ends in a single moment.”
The captions go on to describe the doctor as being seen as “a savior to some, a murderer to others.” When someone calls her by the name “Maria,” she replies, “I’m not Maria anymore.”
