JTBC’s upcoming drama “The Nice Guy” has confirmed its premiere date and released a series of new character teaser videos featuring Lee Dong Wook!
The noir drama “The Nice Guy” will tell the story of Park Seok Chul (Lee Dong Wook), the eldest grandson of a third-generation gangster family with an unexpectedly pure heart, and his first love Kang Mi Young (Lee Sung Kyung), who dreams of becoming a singer.
Three distinct teaser videos offer a glimpse into the drama’s emotional and stylistic range. The first, titled the “Noir” version, hints at Park Seok Chul’s tumultuous life journey. With blood-stained bandages wrapped around his hand and a hauntingly vacant gaze, the teaser sets a gritty tone. The voiceover, “A man who had much to protect,” suggests a character constantly fighting to defend what matters most to him.
The second teaser, with a “Literary” concept, reveals a softer, more introspective side of Seok Chul. As he takes notes in a journal, he narrates, “Hemingway once said, as long as the sun rises, there is hope. Will the sun rise again for me?” This poignant reflection raises curiosity about his inner conflict and hopes.
The final teaser blends both the noir and literary elements, offering a fuller picture of Seok Chul’s identity. As scenes shift between both concepts, he narrates, “I took the road less traveled by. And that has made all the difference.” As Seok Chul struggles between his dream of becoming a novelist and his life in the criminal underworld, viewers are left wondering what kind of choices he has made—and how they have shaped his destiny.
