KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “My Girlfriend Is the Man!” has unveiled its first teaser!
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “My Girlfriend Is the Man!” is a romantic comedy about a college student whose girlfriend unexpectedly transforms into a man.
ASTRO’s Sanha stars as Park Yoon Jae, an astronomy major who is head over heels for his girlfriend Kim Ji Eun (OH MY GIRL’s Arin). Due to a gene that runs in her family, Kim Ji Eun suddenly turns into a handsome man (played by Yoo Jung Hoo) and begins going by the name Kim Ji Hoon. Chuu plays the role of Kang Min Joo, a popular student who develops a crush on Park Yoon Jae.
The teaser begins with heart-fluttering scenes of Yoon Jae and Ji Eun’s sweet romance, including Yoon Jae shyly confessing, “From the moment I first met Ji Eun, every moment we shared felt like a miracle,” as he is shown brimming with happiness.
However, things take a shocking turn when, on a rainy night, a man in a hoodie—Kim Ji Hoon—watches Yoon Jae working at a café before approaching him and saying, “It’s me. Ji Eun…” Shocked, Yoon Jae grabs him by the collar and demands, “Where’s Ji Eun?!” as Ji Hoon gazes back with teary eyes.
The teaser then flashes the caption, “One day, my girlfriend turned into a man!?” showing a tipsy Yoon Jae partying at a club before freezing in shock when Ji Hoon appears and affectionately calls out to him.
In another scene, Yoon Jae personally helps shave Ji Hoon’s mustache and recalls how his girlfriend Ji Eun used to wipe food off his lips. Lost in the memory, he wonders, “Is this another miracle I’m experiencing with Ji Eun?” But his dreamy expression quickly turns into utter shock upon seeing Ji Hoon’s face again, adding a comedic twist.
Later, Yoon Jae’s junior Kang Min Joo pinches his cheek and whispers in his ear, sending flirty signals that rile up both Ji Eun and Ji Hoon. Facing Ji Hoon, she boldly scoffs, “With the way you act, people will misunderstand and think you’re Yoon Jae’s girlfriend,” shooting him a sharp glare and heightening the tension.
Finally, Yoon Jae watches in confusion as Kim Ji Hoon dances with the exact same moves and expressions as Ji Eun. “It’s clearly not Ji Eun… but it is Ji Eun,” he mutters, overwhelmed by the absurdity of it all.
