ENA’s upcoming drama “The Defects” has offered a sneak peek at Won Jin Ah’s character!
Based on a popular webtoon, “The Defects” is an action thriller about children who have been abandoned by their adoptive parents—and their fight for survival and revenge. The drama is directed by Oh Gi Hwan and written by Ahn So Jung.
Won Jin Ah plays Kim Ah Hyun, a girl who was returned after being adopted but miraculously survived. Kim Ah Hyun becomes the leader and emotional anchor of the surviving children, ultimately confronting an unexpected truth after a desperate fight for revenge and survival.
With sharp judgment and a strong survival instinct, Kim Ah Hyun quickly assesses danger and takes the lead. Her complex inner world and deep emotional arc are expected to underscore the heart of the survivors’ story.
The first stills of Won Jin Ah as Kim Ah Hyun have been released, offering a glimpse into her character. In the images, Won Jin Ah captures attention with a gaze filled with deep anger and sorrow. Her sharp, alert expression suggests she senses danger, while her determined stare, held in check by restraint, conveys the full weight and presence of a cold survivor.
Won Jin Ah, who hints at the arrival of a new kind of character through this drama, is set to show a completely different side of herself with a performance that blends physical intensity and emotional depth. Taking on her first action role since her debut, she is prepared to leave a lasting impression on viewers with a dark and bold presence unlike anything she has shown before.
The production team said, “Actress Won Jin Ah perfectly portrayed the deeply layered character of Kim Ah Hyun with her steady acting,” adding, “Viewers can look forward to her performance, which will further strengthen the world of ‘The Defects.’”
“The Defects” is set to premiere on July 21 at 10 p.m. KST.
